Alliance Packaging creates eyes in the skies at Renton, WA facility

Alliance Packaging is a well-known, independent corrugated box manufacturer with several facilities located throughout northwest United States. The company provides a full range of packaging solutions from custom shipping containers to retail packaging, from stock boxes to in-store displays, from creative design to same-day delivery service. In their Renton, Washington facility, Alliance needed to make room for the installation of a brand new multi-million dollar corrugated paper machine and design a control room to optimize visibility of the new machine.

SOLUTION

MiTek Mezzanine Systems and Alliance Packaging collaborated on an elevated platform design that both maximized existing floor space as well as optimized the view of machine operations. The platform solution was engineered 12 feet above the floor and suspended over the new corrugated machine. The mezzanine was designed with unconventional angled windows as well as fire suppression as a key component. The MiTek mezzanine provided a cost effective solution by integrating a custom designed mezzanine over the existing machinery. The mezzanine optimized current building space reducing potential expansion costs and improved overall production and appearance at the facility.
